Bottle 1st then breast later?

Anyone start off bottle feeding and then transition to breast? Any issues with doing it the reverse so to say? My LO has to be on bottle the 1st month bc of NICU issues but we can transition to breast when she's 1.5 months, I worry she won't be interested.

I don't have any experience with this, but perhaps a nipple shield will help if you can't get her to latch? Definitely talk to a Lactation Consultant! Mine was a lifesaver when my LO was born.

My little one was in the nicu for 2 days and was using a bottle. We were able to transition to breast, but it took several weeks for the her to learn how to get the milk out. Now she is a pro and when I went back to work, she had no problem switching back to a bottle during the day and breast feed in the evening and night. They are fantastic learners!

My son was having trouble latching so for his first week I pumped and gave him a bottle. I got a nipple shield to help him latch and he's doing great. He doesn't have issues taking a bottle either.

It's better to breastfeed first so baby gets colostrum
