Living on a yacht irresponsible as parents?🐬

Question

My partner and I thought about buying a yacht and sailing around the world. The issue is we have a little baby on the way, and while it may be okay for 2-3 years, soon they'll need to go to nursery and then full time education.
 
I thought about a qualified governess/home school teacher.
 
What do you think? Any other issues?

The only foreseeable issue I can think of is the lack of socialization aspect. Okay time w mom and dad is great and all but children need other children. It's important for them to develop those interpersonal skills early on in life. Play with other kids is important imho

Personally, I would be most concerned with the risk involved. What if something happens to your boat? There are lots of storms on the seas. What if your child needs medical care? What if something happens to you and your husband and your child is left alone on the boat forever? These are just the questions that are running through my head because I have an uncle who actually did try sailing around the world. His boat ended up sinking during a storm off the coast of Honduras and he ended up swimming miles to shore in shark infested waters. He was a sailor, a professional scuba diver, swimmer and navy seal, trained for circumstances like these. But I am sure that this is not something you want to happen with your child on board. Anything can happen and that would be my greatest concern.

I have read about a family who did this before do I suppose it is doable. 
The main problem I would foresee is that children get sick often when they are young and I wouldn't want to be far away from quality medical care if we had a serious problem. 
I was homeschooled through Abeka Academy and that would be a great option. I imagine sailing around the world would be very educational too.

Sounds cool. Like someone else lack of socialization might be a problem. And idk if you want to have a more stablility for the first bit of the kids life, you don't want it to get sick or something in a part of the world that doesn't have great hospitals.

I would be on that boat so fast! I would have zero concerns about socialization- children to play with can be found all over the world. Think of all the amazing things you would be able to introduce your child to--cultures, art, life on a grand scale.

I actually worked as an au pair for almost a year between college and real life. I have dual Bachelors, speak fluent Spanish and a touch of French-- got room, board, travel and $1000 US/month. I was responsible for child care and early education. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The children I cared for are now 15 and 12--they still come visit me each summer and are amazing kids.

You could also homeschool. They don't have to go to daycare. My daughter does only because I was a single mom, working full time. My baby I'm pregnant with will not go to daycare.

If you can do it go for it, when the time comes that your infant is ready for home schooling then u can deal with it..
