NT Scan?

Are you choosing to do an NT scan and testing? If you don't mind sharing why or why not, that would be appreciated as well!

Yes, because insurance covers it so there is literally no downside to doing it. It just helps give peace of mind that everything is progressing good. It also may allow others to prepare for different plans, like raising a child with down syndrome.

We chose not to do it with our first child, based on the reasoning that it wouldn't change anything. This time, while it still wouldn't change anything, we want to be able to be prepared if need be, especially since we have our daughter to worry about too. It just seems like the smarter choice for our family this time.

We just had ours today. It was more of a preparation thing. If the baby did have a higher risk of Down syndrome we would at least be able to have a game plan and be mentally ready. We would keep the baby either way but at least we would know what we were doing.

I had mine earlier this week. It wouldn't change anything for us in terms of our love for our wee one but if anything had showed up, it would have enabled us to prepare.

I did the harmony test since its 99% accurate and the other tests require two rounds of testing.  My fiance and I figure it's better to know ahead of time.

I have chosen not to do it just because personally I don't want to. I am having more ultrasounds than usual due to previous losses so I'm kind of in the mindset that they would catch something if there was anything they could see to catch. I do see how women would have it just to be prepared. I am in no way against it!

Did it bc it doesn't hurt to know. Mental prep can help if need be. It was either NT scan for free or harmony blood test for $600.

We did a NT scan on Monday. Ultrasound and blood test. With my first I didn't get to choose for the blood test they just kinda did it I'm assuming and I got no results, she came out fine. This time I got to choose one out of 3 blood tests. I choose the most accurate one with a 90% chance I think? It's two blood tests one at 13 weeks and one at 17 or 18 weeks. I honestly didn't care because I will love it no matter what, but I just want to prepare myself just in case. (:

It's our first and we really wanna know the gender so I can start the nursery since we are buying our house in a month. No matter if my child shows for any possible disability I would not even feel differently about my pregnancy. It would have me well prepared for my child. I see why some woman don't want it or don't think it's necessary, I'm simply a shopaholic and wanna start the nursery !!
