exam?

I've never been to a health clinic before to get birth control, I know that I'm most likely getting a full exam like a Pap smear. This is probably a dumb question, but will the health care person, see my vagina?

A papsmear is when they put a speculum inside your vagina and open it. They will look at your vagina inside and out to make sure you don't have any sores, like herpes or warts plus look for anything abnormal. They will take a brush and collect some cells from your cervix which is what connects your uterus to your vagina. They test the cells for any abnormalities ina lab and get back to you in about a week, like for stds, viruses or bacterial infections.

I've been to the health clinic several times and they've only seen my vagina when inserting the iud. I don't see why it's necessary for a Pap smear to start birth control if it doesn't involve going inside
