Baby is sick:/

Hey mommas! I have a question. My son is sick :-( hes never gotten sick until now. He is 7 months! I called the nurse's and asked if i can give him a little cough medicine the ones they have for babies. They told md mo it's not good for them especially at young age. I was wondering what you guys did? Did you still give them a little medicine? Hes congested, cough smd sneezing. Or maybe put some vapor rub on his back ?
