Is it normal?

Is it normal to not be seeing any sort of doctor until I am 9 weeks and 3 days along? I had some blood drawn but that is about it. And now I sit and wait...
I don't want to be the crazy mom who calls the doctor and demands to be seen earlier but I also want to have some point to care during the next few weeks. Any advice ladies?

My first appointment isn't until Feb 27th and I will be 9 weeks 1 day. It seems crazy they have us wait so long but my doctor mentioned you can see so much more at that point and there isn't much they can do before that unless you've had issues before. This is my first so I just assumed that was how it was done! I am counting down the days and will be super anxious until then. I did ask my primary care doc to test my hcg just to give me some peace of mind, which she gladly ordered for me! Good luck to you!!

Yep. With my first I didn't even get blood drawn. Never saw my doctor until 10 weeks, which was an excruciatingly long wait!

It sucks to have to wait this long! My 1st appt is Feb 20th... this is my 2nd and I don't remember having to wait this long then (11 yrs ago!)... hang in there! ☺️

Most won't see you until at least 8 weeks, unless you have previous issues. With my first I didn't get to see the Dr until I was 15 weeks since I didn't have insurance because of my husband switched jobs and we were in the process of moving. This time I will see my midwife on the 28th this month at exactly 8 weeks. Try not to stress as you wait, I know easier said then done. If you have any questions or concerns I'm sure if you call a nurse or even your Dr can answer or reassure you until you get to go in for your first appointment.

Very normal. Almost all obgyns don't see you until 8-10 weeks along. They should be sending you some information by mail though, like what meds you can and can't take and other things like that.
