Had it 2.5 years, cramps after insertion lasted a day, periods got lighter and shorter after a year, 3 days tops. Never got pregnant, did not move, slight random cramp every now and then, periods regulated right after removal. Got pregnant right away (chemical) took 11 months total for viable pregnancy. I love it.

It does work well for not ovulating or having a period. But my moods ended up being wacky, skin started breaking out and I could not lose weight at all. I also had trouble when it was taken out because it had decided to grow into my uterus which caused horrible fever and flu like symptoms every time I ovulated for like three months.

I loved it. I had awful periods before and during the pill, hated remembering the pill. Iud got rid of the heavy periods and hormonal mood swings

i had it and had no problems whatsoever, everyone's different but i had period like pains after having it put in for a couple of days and felt a bit groggy for a few days after but after that periods basically disappeared par from spotting on the occasional month but that was it! will defiantly be having it back in after i've had the baby i'm ttc now haha xx

I had the mirena two times. It was effective as a birth control measure but i had a fair amount of other issues. Weight gain, headaches, anxiety problems etc. After gettimg it removed the 2nd time it had embedded in my uterus which made it really hard to remove, but almost all of my symptoms were alleviated within a few weeks. I would not recommend it. But it did work well.
