Zofran ??

So my Doctor perscribed me zofran for my morning sickness and I took one today and ate after and I feel great for the first time in days ... is taking it safe while pregnant ? Should I stop and deal with the server morning sickness ? Help!!!

Yes it's safe or your dr wouldn't give it to you. Drs are very careful on what they give pregnant women. I've been taking it since 14 weeks. I'm 20 weeks now and without it I'd still be puking every day!

I was put on it by my Dr but it didn't do anything for me at all. I still threw up just as much and was even more nauseous. So I discontinued after like 3 days. I ended up in the ER for extreme vomiting and at the end the nurse came in and said they're taking me off of it anyway because it can cause birth defects. Even though I'd specifically talked to my Dr about it and he said it's no more likely than unmedicated pregnancies to result in defects. He gave me studies and percentages etc. I still trust him completely but the stigma is out there on the medicine. I also do personally know of two girls who used Zofran and their sons had cleft palates. But who's to say that they wouldn't have been born with that anyway? I don't know. If it helps, use it. It didn't help me.

I take a nausea relief pill I brought from Rite Aid , it's like Once A Day or something, they have the prenatal that match, but I'm taking natures bounty which has ginger in it and that helps a lot, I feel less nauseous when I take my prenatals because of that, but Zofran I would have to say how about NO BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CLASS ACT LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM AT THIS VERY MOMENT FOR KNOWN DEFECTS IN INFANTS WHO MOMS TOOK ZOFRAN IN THE FIRST TWO TRIMESTERS

I had severe hyperemenesis in first trimester. I was on zofran. All I can say is that it saved my life. It didn't stop vomiting completely but reduced it to 4 times a day instead of 8-9. I lost 23lbs but zofran saved my and my baby's life. I had my 20 weeks anatomy scan and everything is normal.

My doctor actually told me zofran used to be safe but isn't anymore studies show it causes birth defects! Just to be safe I'd say stop taking it! Try natural remedies, best wishes!

I was on cyclazine whilst I was taking some antibiotics. I was hospitalised with the sickness a couple of weeks ago and put on a drip :( I stopped the cyclazine when the antibiotics had finished. I've never heard of the one that you take, but I'm in the uk xxx

They wouldn't give a pregnant woman a medication if it wasn't. I took it with my first pregnancy and have a healthy happy 2 year old viking.
