Does the pill make your period completely go away?

Just went on pill few weeks ago. I'm wondering how the periods are when you're on the pill. Is it heavy enough for me to use tampons?

Yes just don't take the last pills skip those and start a new pack

Mine are light but they've never disappeared completely since being on the pill. I've heard that it does happen to some ladies tho

You still get your period (unless you start your new pack a week early). My periods stayed the same, but if they change, there's more of a chance it'll get lighter, but everybody is different.

Yes! The pills can cause you to stop having a period after extended use. Before starting the pill, my periods were very irregular. After a year of being on the pill, I stopped getting a period. Sometime after I stopped getting a period, the pills failed and I got pregnant. I didn't have any symptoms of pregnancy until I started showing at 30 weeks and technically I never "missed a period" because I had stopped having them so long story short, I found out I was pregnant in October 2016 and had my daughter in December 2016. If you miss your period on the pill, take a test!! If you've gone two months without a period, go to the doctor and rule out pregnancy. Better safe than sorry.
