baby showers drama!!!

So my Hubby wanted to throw me a baby shower along with his mom and my mom and have one huge big one. But now his mom is being all stupid saying she wants her own. My husband has repeatedly told her thats not what we want, we only want one. She said she doesn't care what we want she wants to plan her own her own way. Like are me and my hubby the only ones that think this isn't right? My husband along with my mom are going to throw me a surprise shower and invite my family and all of our friends. My mother in law said she doesn't care she's having one her own way!!!! Ugh My hubby and I are so frustrated with her!!!!!
