tired placenta?

I was recently told by my doctor that I have a tired placenta and may need to be induced a week early. I get the general idea but do I need to worry? Does anyone have more information or understanding of what a tired placenta is. I was just told it's tired, no other information.

Personally I would call my doctor up and ask. I sometimes blank and forget to ask for more information or instructions during my appt. If this is something serious enough to require an early induction then they should be more than willing to take the time to discuss it and answer any questions you might have.

I'm being induced 2 days before my due date because that is the healthiest point for placenta. My Dr is also aware I want to encapsulate mine. He says longer you wait it starts dying off. Not sure if that what your dr meant.

If I'm not mistaken, a tired placenta is when the placenta starts to deteriorate or degrade (fall apart). I believe you just have to take it easy and monitor kick counts and doctor will follow up on growth to make sure it doesn't affect baby's growth too much. From what I understand, induction is pretty standard unless you go into labor on your own. Definitely follow up with your OB to answer any questions and ease your concerns.
