single forever & happy about it

I don't want to be single forever but with the way society is going now I really don't mind. The thought of being single is somewhat comforting with the knowledge that people are fucking unmotivated for real change, stupid about relationships, and clueless of what it means to love someone. Ultimately, both men and women of today's society have way too many unnecessary factors involved when entering into a relationship. Social media being a prime example. It saddens me to hear girls and women talking about how social media interfered with their relationship with someone they really loved and cared for. Social media is ubiquitous and intertwined with social relations now but it doesn't have to be. I choose to use eve as my only source of social media. I don't understand any other apps and I'm 22 but I just stay away from them. Not only do they not interest me. But for me using the social media apps is a signal of interest into other people's lives. Which I don't have any interest in what the fuck other people are doing. And you shouldn't either! Family is one thing but what's the point in following people we admire? Seriously? Why are we constantly consumed with comparing and contrasting our lives with others? I get you can learn a lot and get inspired but I think it's taken beyond that. This society is fueled off of jealousy. Being jealous of other women who your man follows on whatever app, being jealous of pics people take of their escapades and expensive merchandise, it's all too chauvinistic and pretentious! And I think it's the down fall to human interactions today. So back to my main point which is, since I feel this way I now know that I will be single forever and I'm happy about considering this is the way society chooses to move forward. And if I don't move along with it, then I'll be left behind. Yet, I rather be left behind then stringed along with a society who brings its own people down.
