Is it OK to date someone after you are separated but not yet divorced?

I am separated from my husband of 13 years and we have been seeing other people and he has decided to move his new chick in with him. Is this OK? I think my boyfriend and I are waiting. Would this upset you?

It kinda depends on how long you've been separated,  and how bad it was before the separation.

I think it totally depends on the situation. I got out of a marriage with someone who was unfaithful and emotionally abusive. And started dating before the divorce was final. This was our third separation. To be honest I had mourned and mentally moved on from the relationship before it was over. I was always faithful but I'd known for a year that it was just a matter of time. So there really wasn't anything but relief once it was finally over.

I have 3 children btw. Having a father figure who is not a total waste has been a wonderful thing for them. I wouldn't agree that it's always selfish as another stated.

Everyone's situation is different. You may not be ready. Or your kids might not be. Or maybe you are and they are and someone wonderful will be added to your lives. You are the only one who can know. I do agree you should listen to your instincts. Those are important. :)

Because I adore them. Here is my youngest and her soon to be step-daddy. He's been a friend for years and his new role has brought so much love and joy to all our lives. I wouldn't change it for anything.

My husband decided he wanted to continue to get arrested during the duration of our relationship.. I told him on our 3rd anniversary if he got locked up again it would be over and he decided to get arrested twice in one year

After he was sentenced we both agreed to end it due to age difference and the fact he would be incarcerated for 8 years

I have since started dating and my current relationship started out slow and after a year of seeing each other he moved in with me

I left my ex after we were together almost 10 years but he was really abusive and crazy i had to run to leave left all my things never looked back... i moved in with my best friend we ended up getting together i got pregnant and my daughter just turned 2 and our divorce just finalized December i love my bf more than any guy i have ever been with we have been together almost 3 years now... my exes now gf had another mans baby while being with my ex and whats sad is my ex has 4 kids but has nothing to do with his own kids but yet hes raising some other mans kid as his own eventhough the babys real dad is always in the babys life... his gf is also the same age as one of his daughters but i could care less because of him meeting her he was willing to give me a divorce and now they are engaged which made my day so i could get a divorce... he also didnt want any kids while with me i just find it funny he raises another mans kid but he made his gf get her tubes tied so he couldn't get her knocked up and she isnt but like 22 glad hes ruining someone elses life and not mine... just find it gross he has sex with his daughter girlfriend thats what i call her because she is the same age as one of his daughters his mom is even worried he has something wrong with him since he is into young girls she has expressed to me many times she thinks hes gonna turn into a pedophile but not my problem anymore thank god but yes he is older than me and i was very young when i met him and married him he already had 4 kids which i raised 2 of them me being a kid myself wont none of them talk to me now they think i am wrong for leaving their daddy but one day they will understand and i have my own life now i cant be involved in that situation im just glad i made it out when i did... damn i could write a book or a soap opera with all the shit ive been through

If there are children involved it's very wrong. The time it takes for a divorce to process is not long enough for the children to get ahold of all the change let alone bringing a new SO into their lives. That's very selfish.

If there aren't any kids involved than by all means do what makes you happy.
