When to start bedtime routine??

When do you start making bedtime routine at the same time? My lo is almost 5 weeks and haven't started any kind of routine at night since his naps are still varying each day.

I didn't start my son on a routine until he was awake more often/more alert, around 2-2.5 months. But now at almost 5 months, he's used to them and it definitely helps at bedtime.

I started a bedtime routine at 6 weeks of age with my little girl bedtime started at 9pm during the early weeks then I slowly moved it earlier as she got older, she is now six months and goes to bed at 7pm every night and she is no hassle to settle to bed , we did- bath/ massage/ milk then bed

At 4 weeks old we started, and at almost 8 weeks she now sleeps between 10-12 hours a night

We started the routine around 8 weeks. It's pretty simple: wash his face (we use just water, but it seemed necessary since he started drooling a lot), lotion (he has dry skin), diaper, pajamas, swaddle, feed, sleep. We don't have a set bedtime, just shooting for sleep 90 minutes after his last nap, but he naturally fell into going to sleep around 8:30. Then when I went back to work and we needed to get up he switched to staying asleep after his 6/6:30 nap, so now that's bedtime.

You can probably start whenever you want, just keep in mind that his naps and sleep needs will still be changing and regressing and adjusting a LOT for the next 6 months or so.

My LO is 8.5 months and has only had a firm, set bedtime for a few weeks. We don't do a big routine, just jammies-bottle-bed. We've taken a baby-led approach to sleeping/eating and it's worked fine for the most part. I think it's helped us weather some of the hard times better, because it's not a big deal to me if her routine changes. Some babies respond well to strict routine but mine never has.

We started at 3 months with a routine but not really a bedtime as her naps were still erratic. About 4 months her naps became more predictable and her bedtime was 7:30. It moves up to 7pm around 5.5 months and has stayed there.  She's now 7 months. I always follows her cues and she has set her own schedule which is consistent.

I always just followed his schedule. It makes life easier than having a fussy baby and wasting time trying to get them down when they aren't ready. 
When my son was almost 2, I made a schedule because that is when he started to be consistent with his sleep. I had him on a schedule in less than a week.

I started soon as her stump fell off. Bath ,lotion ,bottle ,bed (our bed) and she got that after a few weeks that it means bed time not play time tho she still sometimes thinks it's play time at 3 am but she's 4 months now
