How much did you save before your baby was born?

Me and my fiancé are starting to really start saving for a baby ( we're waiting just a little longer to start trying) and so far we have a little over $2,000 in our savings ( not including our wedding savings). Just wanted some mom input on what you saved / what you think a good amount is?

LOL 😂 We had like $1300 saved up after a year and a half. But we were 19 and 20, worked a combined 70hrs a week and I was a full time student. Hard to get a good enough job at this age to save up that much.

I had $7500 (personally. My SO makes a good amount of money that was incoming the whole time.) It lasted nearly a year living comfortably.

We both saved $5000 as I would be off work for a year with 90% of my pay. We dipped into it a little bit to pay for our doula and hypnobirthing class... I also live in Canada so I had no expenses related to childbirth.

We are aiming for 4-7k just bc I will take sometime off. Maybe only two months but we want the cushion for that crazy bill to the er when the time comes!

Not so much saving but we looked at how we could cut our costs. We paid off credit cards, paid off school loans, stopped unnecessary purchases (restaurants, dry cleaners, etc.), and sold our cars for two leases (his was a costly older BMW). Annnnnnd if you want to be crazy like us, we actually moved to a different state where we wanted to raise our kids because we could afford more (Florida vs. D.C.).

We haven't saved any, but we will have multiple credit cards and loans finally paid off before baby is born. So that to me, is winning.

We didn't save... It was unplanned but I've put away around $1000 (alone) since November,  and have three months worth of car /insurance payments set aside so I can take time off from work and I'm not due til the end of May so I'm hoping with my taxes and working til I can't any more to have another $1200 saved up

We had a little over 60K, after left in our savings joint account,  after paying in full for our home. 
We have been saving for 4 years.
