thumb sucking?

Question

Any ideas on how to stop a 3 month old from sucking his thumb? I want to stop it before it becomes a problem! Right now we just pull it out of his mouth as soon as we notice and say no! But I know that he can't really understand that quite yet...help! Any ideas?! 😫

He's a baby, if he doesn't have a dummy he will use his thumb

Oh boy that's a hard habit to break I sucked my finger until I was 10..... my mom and dad tried everything to try and get it to stop.....

I let mine suck his thumb because he didn't like pacifiers. Once his teeth started coming in at 5 months he stopped sucking it completely and started liking his pacifier. There's really no way to break the habit in a baby that young other than just offering the paci instead

He's self soothing, just let it be. If he won't take a pacifier to soothe, them the thumb it is. He's so little, you can break the habit later on when he understands a bit more.

I let mine suck his thumb, it helps him go back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night. But I've heard of people putting socks on baby's hands so they can't suck.
