Registry Etiquette?

I've been searching online and asking my family if there is a registry etiquette. My family says put everything in your registry... but I don't like the idea of providing a list of things for people. It makes me uncomfortable. What are your thoughts?

I listed everything, not expecting people will buy but to give variety and also to get the registry completion discount.

Put everything on your registry because babies r us does 5 or 10% cash back on the items so like I put stuff on and then buy it- especially diapers when they're on sale. Target does a year long exchange or return for stuff on their registry.  Amazon does a free baby bag if you register, target too.  Buy buy baby also does a deal like babies r us.

I put everything on mine. I registered for thing that I would like, but probably wouldn't buy for myself.  After my shower when I went back to use gift cards and buy the things I needed but didn't get, I asked for the scanner gun to put everything on my registry first, because like previous posters have said they offer incentives for the items bought off your registry. There will be a lot of people who will not buy off the registry but most want a guideline.  You aren't demanding these items you are giving them ideas.

It's nice because some people may not know what you already have or like so you can go look at that and see. On my registry I put everything from cheap hangers to the more expensive stuff so that everyone felt like it wasn't like I was trying to make everyone spend a ton. I knew there were people who would insist on getting something but I didn't want them to spend a lot.

Think of it as list for you and family to know what you like. Any thing they don't get you have a list so you can get it letter and not forget something. It for baby not you. Does not mean they have to. It sometimes but helps them know what you like for baby. This is our first one but my brother and my husband sister has kids with throw the registry I did not know what to get them and want to.

I know the feels...to the point that I didn't do a registry at all for my wedding. It felt so uncomfortable. But this time I need to do it, it's so many things and I need to make sure I have all the essentials. I realized though that friends and family are excited and do want to help! :) Let's let them :)
