sleep training success?

Hi mamas, would anyone be willing to share some sleep training success stories or any tips? Babe is 6 months tomorrow and I am so ready to get him to SSTN. I want to use CIO as a last resort but seems so many people tried other methods with no success and CIO worked so quickly. Any advice is appreciated!

Google the Ferber method. I think it works.  Basically you put baby down for bed or nap. If baby is crying give him 5 min, go in and reassure. Then increase by 5 min each time you go in to check on baby. So 5,10,15... I never let baby cry more than 20 min tho

I used the Ferber method as well. Worked well for us.

My son is 4 months old and sleeps through the night. My SO and I just play with him until he starts to rub his eyes because he's getting sleepy. Then we keep him awake with a bottle, bath, and then put him in his crib. By that time he's super sleepy and might cry at first but if we rub downward with our thumbs on his nose he drifts off within a minute and we can sneak out with no problem. The key to it for us was waiting long enough to where he's too sleepy to fight but not too long for him to get irritable. (He also has this stuffed animal he's grown attached to that helps called Bao Bao made by Bunnies by the Bay)

We used the cry it out method as well but we wouldn't let him go very long. Like the other post said we would go in and comfort him at 5 min intervals. We wouldn't pick him up but would pat or rub his belly. It was a hard few days but he has learned to soothe himself and now sleeps like a champ. Very rarely does he cry when he goes down and even more rarely do we need to go in and comfort him if he does. Usually out in a few min or just talks to himself for a while. Keeping nap time and bed time at the same time, with in reason, is very import. Also make sure to put baby down before baby gets overtired.
