When can I test?

Question

My doctor told me pregnancy test only work 9 days after a missed period. But nothing online seems to back it up. I'm expecting my period until 2/19. So I  don't know when I  would be able to test first.

I tested the day my period was due and I got an immediate positive. I also tested the next day and then a week later just to make sure.

I always test before my period or day of and always got the right results except maybe this month 🤔

Probably has to do with the hook effect bc at that point your hormonoes would be too high for the test too work correctly.  So you test the day or so after you miss or if you get a first response test you can test a day or so before your period is due.  And if don't know when it's due just get a bunch of cheaper tests and test every couple days till with it's positive or you get your period.  And if you still don't ever get your period call your doctor bc even if you're not pregnant something could be "off" causing you not get periods.
