Secret stash?

Kayla
My husband and I share an account and money seems to go so fast! I just received a monetary gift from a relative and I'm thinking about either cashing it and hiding it or opening a new account.
Ultimately I'm thinking of saving it for a surprise weekend getaway or something.
Thoughts?
Am I wrong to keep it from my husband.
(Btw, he isn't the best with money. He's actually horrible with money.)

I think it is a good safeguard in general to do this. As a surprise... Not deceitful at all ☺

I have a "secret" account that my fiancé does not have access to. It's just an account I have to set aside some extra money in. I normally use it for things for the both of us like vacations or things of that nature. I also use it for things he doesn't necessarily want to spend his money on (like my make up or cigarettes). The only warning I have is that you're going to want to put his name on the account. You can make him a beneficiary and he can't withdraw from the account or anything. I work at a bank and I've learned that if you are a sole owner on an account and something happens to you the money you have in the account can go to the government.

That's how my So is. It's like when the money get in his hand it burns threw so i have a secret stash. He never has money. But i have to manage other then that I'll be in a bad place depending on him to have my back in any emergency situations. I don't feel that you are wrong at all.

I just wanted to make sure. I don't want to be deceitful but I don't trust him to be responsible with his pay let alone extra money.

Nothing wrong with keeping rainy day money a secret, it's good!
