Tounge tie- to snip or not to snip?

Would love anyones advice or negative/positive stories with their little one.

Got it done two weeks ago and he latched on perfectly after. He didn't cry when the pediatrician cut but he got upset with the gauze in his mouth. 2 seconds later he was fine on my boob like nothing happened. He was 3 weeks at the time. It's so great to see his tongue sticking out. A lot more saliva now so that took him a bit to get used too.

We had the procedure done 3 days ago we finally have a breastfeeding baby his latch is so much better I can't even tell you how happy I am

Speaking of tongue ties... my bby girl is having a procedure done tomorrow... I'm worried but I know it's for the best😉 I'll update you on how it goes tomorrow

We had a tongue tie cut at 5 months and even though it was awful to go through the procedure, it has improved my baby's feeding and my milk supply infinitely.

If it is hampering feeding and therefore growth then it is worth looking into.

My girl has a minor tongue tie. The hospital offered to correct it when she was born, in case it would interfere with breastfeeding, but I opted not to do it right away. We just worked on her latch instead, and she did fine. She's 5 months old now, and is currently the most successful with breastfeeding out of all three of my kids!

Update**
Took in my baby girl for her tongue tie procedure and it took less than 1min... a quick water with sugar, a snip and that was it... now she's more of a happy baby lol

We had our sons done at 1 week due to latching issues and it was so tight it actually indented his tongue to like a little v on tip. Took not even 30 seconds was fed and very little bleeding after. He's now 8 months and can still tell his was tight but now I'm a little worried his upper lip is tied. We'll wait and see on that because he'd have to be sedated for that and would rather him be older than have to see him like that now.

We had our LOs tongue and lip ties released at 3 weeks.  It was interfering with nursing.  We elected to have it done since they can cause speech and dental issues. The procedure took about 30 seconds. She cried for a minute then nursed and was fine.  We did stretches for 3 weeks after to keep it from reattaching. The procedure is much more difficult once they are older.

When my son was born the doctors were worried about him possibly having a tongue tie.  After seeing him latch easy and feeding properly, they were no longer concerned. He's 16 months now, and he is a very good eater and he is talking up a storm-- both baby babble and normal words.

My son is only 7 weeks. The pediatrician said to wait and see if his eating was hampered so we waited. He had been eating well and I've not seen a problem. We will see if he has any speech problem later in life but my husband has it and it wasn't snipped. So, I'm not too worried. The pediatrician said it was easier to cut in the office then in the hospital. Also, have the doctor try stretching, that helped us!
