Question

I'm the main breadwinner. And my husband is fine with that. We have separate health insurance policies because it's cheaper and my work pays for ALL of my coverage. But EVERY TIME I have to go to urgent care or new doctor they ALWAYS ask if it is my husband's policy... not "are you the policy holder"...

I work my butt off and have a career I'm proud of, but apparently it's still 1950 and the little lady can't have her own health insurance. ...

Never had that happen. I'm just asked who the primary policy holder is.

I'm a pharmacy tech and all of us in the pharmacy (4 people) just ask "Do you have any insurance?" We do need to know who's plan it it's though, but the insurance cards they hand us usually say "spouse" if it's your SO's plan. 
I dunno. It's it maybe just your perception that they're being rude about it?
