Any advice on what to do?

My workplace has been really ugly to me since I've announced to them that I'm pregnant. They are asking me to do really off the wall things to see if I'll quit before I've agreed to do them (i.e. driving two hours away from our clinic to another when other people live close to that said clinic when I have hyperemesis)

I threw up 9 times yesterday, and asked to leave and barely got a response from our clinic wide manager. I chose to text her this morning instead of calling because it was so early to be courteous, to tell her I was taking PTO today and that if I threw up today that I was going to the hospital. She didn't respond to me. Keep in mind that I've never had one complaint against me here, nor have I been written up, etc.

What are your thoughts ladies?!

I am in the US, however it is HR(the people that own the company) that is treating me this way. I work at a sports medicine clinic that uses to be associated with a local hospital, until we went private a year ago.

If you're in the U.S., it is illegal to discriminate and single out a pregnant woman in the work environment. You should talk to Human Resources about how they are treating you if that's the case. You are covered under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA) and you may also be covered temporarily under the Disability Act if you condition is impacting your work duties - therefor they need to accommodate you.

Do not be afraid to go to bat with them and start talking laws. You are covered.

I know that feeling exactly. My boss pushed my start time later than everyone else and tried to send me home early every chance he got. He wouldn't let me work. I broke down crying one day because I didn't know how I was going to make ends meet if I wouldn't be able to work. Thankfully I am part of a union and I was able to talk to my union steward who had me talk to my supervisors boss. I stood up for myself. I told my supervisors boss what my supervisor was doing in front of him. And he got yelled at. It is illegal for them to treat you differently. Start documenting all instances where they treat you differently or discriminate against you because of your pregnancy or refuse to accommodate you. Have copies of all of the doctors notes you have given them and save text messages and record phone calls. Go talk to the Human Resources department and if that's not possible, find a lawyer. Most of the time you don't have to press charges, just tell your boss you know your rights. But I learned really quickly that I have to stand up for myself because I have to make sure I do what is healthiest and best for myself AND my baby (: good luck!! I hope it gets better for you!
