Labor and bleeding

Did anyone else bleed ALOT during labor? I was induced, and started bleeding heavy after the doc stripped my membranes and I lost my plug. I was 1-2 cm I believe. I had a gush of blood and then it just kept coming. The nurses had to keep cleaning me and changing the bed pad. They said it was normal and obviously everything is ok, I've already given birth, but I didn't know you bleed so much during labor. Anyone else?
