developmentally slow

I know all babies grow at their own rate but I am starting to worry about my 9 month old daughter. She is the happiest, most easy going baby, we really are so lucky but I cannot help but worry she isn't reaching the milestones most 9 months old do. She rolled, sat up all on time but has yet to crawl which I know isn't a biggie. But we are working on clapping which she doesn't seem to get and whenever I want to take her picture in a busy setting I cannot get her to look at me. She is always playing with her hands/feet or looking at patterns. She always smiles when I say her name so I know she knows it but why can't I get her to look at me? To put it plainly I can't help but wonder if she isn't that smart? Is that horrible to say?
