sex after baby???

Question

I know you're supposed to wait 6 weeks after giving birth before having sex, but I've been too scared to try. My baby is almost 12 weeks old and I'm scared it will be too painful. Anyone else feel this way? What did you do to make it hurt less? 
EDIT: I also had a second degree tear and stitches

I'm apparently a weirdo. My doctor cleared me for sex at 4 weeks postpartum. I jumped right on that (forgive the pun 😂)... Anyway... 
It wasn't as bad as losing my virginity. We used a ton of lube the first few times, which helped a lot. It wasn't comfortable the first three or so times, and my husband was wonderful and gentle during that time. I had to get an episiotomy, and my doctor did it super carefully so that I had fewer stitches, but some of them were internal. That was the worst part. Sex didn't hurt the stitches, but it was weird as hell at first. Even now, I love Doggy-Style, but it's not quite the same anymore. It's not bad, just different. 
If I could give advice on this to everyone, I would say to treat it like losing your virginity. Wait until you're ready, use tons of lube, and communicate with your partner. I would also experiment with different positions, because there were definitely some that didn't work (like doggy-style) at the very beginning, but we worked our way up to later.

Use lots of lube and make sure you have an open communication with your partner. I had a 4th degree tesr and 9 months pp it still hurts. But lube makes a huge difference. Also start with fingers and work yore way up if you're super scared then you'll know how much you'll be able to handle. I hope this helps.

I had a 3rd degree tear and it was sometime in the 3rd month for us. Helps to take it slow and let yourself get turned on. Sing LUBE

Ugh, I waited about that same time. I'd like to say it was awesome... but for me it hurt like heck. 
I was still nursing so that does NOT help with lubrication... which I didn't know about till my doctor told me. 
I think I was nervous too. 
I don't know... it took awhile for it to feel normal again.

We only waited 2 weeks but used lube and condoms. I didn't have stitches, only a superficial tear. I know you're supposed to wait longer but I was fine.

I waited 9 weeks and I also had a bad 2nd degree tear. It was not the most fun experience, it felt worse than the first time, even with lots of lube and coconut oil. My son is almost 6 months now, and once in a while, it still hurts, especially if he hits where the stitches were....

Use a ton of lube!!! Tmi, It was hard for my husband to get in without hurting. I asked my dr and he said lube is our friend. We tried it and it worked!! It eventually got to a point where we no longer needed it. I also had a second degree tear. Also, go really slow at first. It will help if by chance it does hurt or feel uncomfortable at first.
