Are we living in the Victorian era still?

I feel like so many women are misinformed on how to care for their babies and even themselves. I hear people saying you're showing your baby too much affection, breastfeeding is an invasion of my privacy, breastfeeding is overrated, etc. etc. What has happened to educating women on prenatal and postpartum care???

The information is more widely and readily available than ever before. There are people who choose ignorance.

Maybe people don't want the information that you have to give. Maybe they want to do things their own way. You don't like what they do? Close your eyes. Don't judge what era you think they live in. Maybe you live in the Stone Age with that attitude.

I agree. I think a lot of women take advice from their parents and grandparents, who had a way different way of doing things. Some women still think they can't life their arms above their heads because their grandma told them it would cause a miscarriage.

It baffles me as well. I think it's outdated advice trickling down from moms, grandmas and older pediatricians. I have followed literally none of my parents' "advice" and am considering switching pediatricians because I feel like I always leave his office thinking "I'm not doing that." My baby was born 5lbs (lost too much and dropped to 4lb 6oz at her lowest) and he told me not to breastfeed her on demand and only feed her every 3-4 hours 😐
