Car seat inspection necessary?

The hospital gave us a flyer to go to a car dealership where they host an inspection for proper car seat installations. Our car seat was very easy and straight forward to install and am completely confident in how we installed it. Is it necessary to get it inspected? Did any of you moms get an inspection??

My friends husband is a firefighter, and she told me people go in hoping "professionals"  will check their install, but really they just read the manual and do their best to install it. They are not car seat professionals. 
I wonder where this stat of 90% comes from. Seems like something you can't really measure because it's not a random sample.

My hospital has dates on their website that certified techs will help you install, inspect, and answer questions. If we have time we will be dropping in, but I don't feel it is completely necessary since I've talked to a certified tech and watched then install a demo seat. I also have experience from other little ones in my family. Their main pointers were to read both your car and car seat manual to make sure you are using the safest positioning in your car.

Any fire station will do car seat checks for you too! And the hospital will check before you leave that it is in properly. Ive got a lot of experience putting them in and my husband doesn't. 
My in laws both work for fire departments in a different state and don't have faith in me putting it in correctly. My MIL actually said that she was going to come up when we have our son just to make sure I don't screw it up because she's an 'expert' at it lol.

Lol! I said to my boyfriend a few days ago "maybe next week when I am full term we can install the car seat" he says "pesh! Sure! It will take me 2 seconds" I was dying inside trying not to laugh! I'll just go get it checked at the fire station after he installs it without him knowing 🙊😂 what a goof ❤️

In his defense though, he does have 2 kids from his previous marriage so he's not a complete amateur.... but just like the rest of you commented, 90% of car seats are installed wrong or with a deficiency that can be fixed!

Babies r us does them too! We saw a sign on their door. I'm in California, not sure if it's world wide or not.

I just got a free inspection at the police station & sure enough, they found something to change (& we felt pretty confident).... I guess I'd say no harm in doing it!

I'm definitely going to have ours checked... And my husband is a friggin engineer haha. Statistics show that 90% of car seats are installed incorrectly. That's like... insane. That means even experienced parents are installing them wrong!

I took it to the fire station just to get checked out and they tightened t more than we could, they also did the warranty work on the seat for us
