Has anyone else had a baby that had super bad eye boogers or yellowish puss like stuff come from their eye? I asked the doctor when we were there for a follow up of my son's jaundice and was told that it could be a reaction from the eye drops they put in after birth. The nurse at the hospital before we were discharged said it could be a blocked tear duct. Both told me it should go away soon. Well, it went away in the eye it was in at that time, but just today it came in the other eye and it is a lot worse. And it's a bit swollen. I'm not sure if the swelling is from

Is cleaning it away all the time, but if we don't, it dries and then he can't open his eye. I'm going to watch it and see how it does and call the doctor tomorrow as our clinic is open for a couple hours on Sundays, but I was just wondering if someone had a newborn ever that had something similar and what you might have done to help it without meds. We have newborn pictures in the morning so I'd like to be able to clear it up or slow it down. It doesn't seem to bother him, but as soon as we wipe it away, it comes back.
