How to help?!

Hey ladies. A friend of mine is having a really tough time with their 1 year old. They have never been out at night since she was born and it sounds like every night is a real struggle to get her to sleep. We've never had these issues with ours so i don't really know how to support her. We live in a different city so can't pop over to babysit either. They are first time, working parents and I'm starting to really worry about them. A year in and no better than the harrowing newborn days. Any suggestions? Thanks!
