Ladies, what are your thoughts on epidural? Opinions.... do you like them?

Trying to decide what to do for my birth plan. I want a water birth but I am also thinking about an epidural. Except I don't know a lot about it.

I was going to try and have a natural birth but once I got to 3cm the contractions were unbearable. I ended up getting a c-section so I would've had to be medicated anyway. But if I ever have another baby, I want the epidural ASAP! lol

I had an epidural for my birth. It was a walking epidural drip. It's not as strong as the other kind they use but it took away all my pain and I was still able to move around freely. It was a blessing for me. My pain was so bad that every time I had a contraction I would vomit and shake. The epidural took that all away but left enough feeling so I could feel the pressure of my baby's head when it was time to push.

When my sister had her first kid she got an epidural and since the nurse was newer she messed up and my older sister was paralyzed in her left leg for a few days so just be careful who's doing it.

It totally depends on the type of birth experience you want. If you get an epidural, you won't be able to walk at all.
