Anemic?

Today I turned 36 weeks today and blood results came back stating I am anemic. Is that bad? I am a FTM and this is getting me very anxious. The Dr. stated I need to get my levels higher before I have my baby girl. 😔

I'm slightly anemic and have been taking iron pills. You can also up your intake of foods with iron! I'd google it but here's a small list:

I became really anemic around 28 weeks, I have to take slow release iron 2x a day and I also try to eat iron rich foods. Although I am still a bit low I am much better than I was, it was horrible and I was exhausted all the time.

It's quite common in the third trimester. I am scheduled for an iron infusion this week as my iron Levels keep dropping x

Take iron and vitamin c pills. You and baby will be alright try to not worry yourself sick. ❤️

Definitely. Low iron=low red blood cells. You need this for a plethora of good reasons but mostly so you won't need a blood transfusion during childbirth/cesarean... if you feel short of breath that's a sign that you def need more iron. I had to double my supplement and it helped me tremendously, I can't begin to explain how much better I feel.

No my levels were slightly elevated and my doctor said its normal, i just eat spinach to get the iron that i need

Just go grab some iron pills from Walmart or a drug store. They aren't too expensive and they fixed my levels by the time I went back for my next visit. If your doctor doesn't seem worried try not to stress your self out 🙂
