I had my first ultrasound at 6weeks but didn't get to hear the heartbeat. I'm meeting my doctor this upcoming Friday and I'll be 10 weeks then. I'm just wondering usually when do they do the second ultrasound? And when can I hear my nuggets heart beat?

I had 6 wk, 9 wk, 13 wk, 18 wk (paid for 4d), 20 wk... I'm 35 weeks along and won't get another ultrasound unless they suspect a problem. I saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks but couldn't hear it until 9 weeks.

Most places don't do another ultrasound until the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. 
However it depends on your doctor really. Some people get ultrasound every few appointments.

I actually only got my 20 weeks scan, (did an emergency one 30 weeks) and won't get another until I go 10 days over (fingers crossed I go this week 😂) 
But anywho! I didn't get to hear my daughters heartbeat until 12 weeks because my midwives said it happens often they don't hear the heartbeat with the Doppler and causes unnecessary panic so they just held off. Most places will try eating anywhere from 8 weeks onward though!

The number of US depends on insurance, Doctor, and high risk needs. My doctor told me to start with that my insurance would only pay for two, however I am about to have my third. I think I'm considered high risk due to my BP. My first was at 6 weeks, 2nd at 18 weeks, 3rd will be at 30 weeks. The nurse has used the Doppler to listen to the heart beat at every appointment from 10 weeks+.

They usually do an ultrasound around 13 weeks to look for Down syndrome markers. At least at my office they did. I had an initial ultrasound at 10 weeks because I was so worried about the baby being gone. I didn't hear the heartbeat just saw it. At my 13 week I heard it. Don't worry too much. I'm sure your little bean is just fine!

Mine does the Doppler for heart beat at each app, but most get the initial scan and the anatomy scan at 20 wks
