Confused

My last period was December 20th. I didnt get my period on January 21st like I was supposed too. I took several pregnancy tests and they were negative. My ovulation tests from February 2nd and February 3rd were positive. So why did I ovulate so late? And I had sex one day before I got a positive ovulation test so could I still have a chance of conceiving? Thanks for your advice.
