ready to hear that heartbeat

During my first pregnancy I knew right away I was pregnant. I had that feeling like I wasn't alone and there was another soul with me. I'm 8 weeks and 2days today. This time I haven't felt that... or that butterfly feeling in your gut. Hoping for some confirmation today at my first appointment. I'm definitely having a lot of pregnancy symptoms but I have had a miscarriage and I think I'm just scared to get my hopes up this time.
