ECV???

Has anyone had a ECV before? Anyone having to schedule one? my LO is still breach at 36 weeks and i have the option of a ecv to turn her next week..

I am 36+3 and today I declined the ECV. I knew my baby was breech so I did my own research and I don't want to put my baby at that risk, so I'll be having an elective c-section in 3 weeks. It really pissed me off that the midwife and doctors tried to convince me giving me a sheet of paper where NONE of the risks such as placenta abruption were stated.

I'll have mine next week at 37 weeks. The American College of Obstetricians stated in Practice Bulletin 161 last year that the standard of care is to offer ECV before scheduling a c-section when the conditions are right because the risks are minimal.

I'm in my 37th week and we're trying to get my ECV scheduled this week. Roo is currently transverse, so my OB thinks we have a good chance of getting him turned. For some reason, my entire pregnancy, I've always said I wanted to try it if he didn't turn on his own. We did get the paper on the risks and the monitoring they do first, and we thought the risks were low enough to attempt it and try to avoid a C-section (yes, I am aware that there is a possibility that I may have to go straight in for one, but if he doesn't turn I'd need one anyway). Wouldn't be at all surprised if it started my labor, not that I'm particularly worried about that, both sides tend to have large babies. This is one of those things that there is no one answer for all situations, so do your research and talk to your OB.

Just booked mine today for the 27th... Will post again after. I'm skeptical as this is my first and I have an anterior placenta, but I want to try.
