Ear piercing, when should you do it??

Question

At what age did you all pierce your child's ear? Where did you have it done and what was your experience after the piercing? Did it heal well, did baby have problems with it?

I asked our pediatrician this question and she recommends waiting until baby is 6 months old and finished with her shots before piercing ears.

Took my now 9wk old at 4wks. She cried during the process but stopped right after. They didn't bother her afterwards. It's like she has no idea she has them. I was always told the younger he better. They have no idea what's going on verses wait until the child is older and can bother the earrings and effect the healing process.

We won't be doing it.  I'm gonna let her chose when she wants it done.  I have tons of piercings but I just don't like the look on babies

My 5yr old had her first piercing at 2months , after her first set if shots. She cried louder when hungry than when she got them pierced. She recently wanted her second hole and freaked out while there, even though I kept telling her she didn't have to get it if she didn't want to. I will definitely be getting baby girls first hole at 2-3 m.

I haven't yet, but I will be taking her when she turns 3 months. And I'm not sure whether I want to just take her somewhere like Claire's or to a professional. Leaning more towards the professional piercer though.

Wait as long as you can! I'm not trying to be like those moms who tell you it's your baby's choice to do it when their older.. I wish my parents did mine when I was a baby! I think it's soo cute. BUT my dads girlfriend had hers done when she was a baby and the piercer either didn't put them in the right spot or maybe her ears weren't done developing/growing into their permanent shape (idk trying to give benefit of the doubt??) and now that she's grown, the holes are way too high up and it looks weird. She even stretched her ears & wears gauges/plugs because it looks better that way. So I'd wait as long as possible so her ear lobes are bigger and easier to do the right way. And go to a professional place, not a Claire's!!

Will wait until she is old enough to tell me she wants it doing. I know everyone has their views on this but I hate seeing little babies pierced as they haven't asked for it and personally think it looks odd as they are way too young. 8/9/10th birthday most likely

I took my daughter  at 2 months after her shots . Didn't bother her healed really fast

My dd was 23 weeks when i got her ears done (had to wait for jabs to be done)... i used a tattoo numbing cream on her ears n she didnt feel a thing/ no crying whatsoever... they healed lovely.. shes 2 now and never had a problem with them.
