What do you think about pushing during labor?

Well if you get an epidural I don't think you necessarily feel the "urge", so it depends.

Won't contractions themselves push baby down and out? FTM here and always thought you pushed when you got the urge otherwise you waste a lot of energy and can tear yourself?

I was all natural I didn't have a choice when she wanted out my body pushed 2 pushes she was out Dr almost didn't catch her

I felt pressure even with my epidural, but no pain. I knew when my body was contracting, but my nurse also would let me know when it showed on the monitor. It was definitely a collaboration of me, the nurse and my OB. We made a great team, even when his shoulder got stuck in my pelvic bone. He ended up being 9lbs. 😅

I knew when I had to push even with the epi. I would ask the doctor if I could push and he would say yeah. It was a team effort for sure.
