breast pump?

Found out our insurance will cover about 10 different breast pumps 100%. I'm looking at reviews online but as a first time mommy I'm not sure what to be looking for. Any mommies have advice?

I researched and debated for quite a while between the Medela pump in style and Spectra S2 and went with the S2 for a couple of reasons: it is a closed system (no milk gets in so it is more hygenic), it is more customizable and (according to lots of reviews) gentler/more natural feeling, it is quieter (easier to pump while the baby is sleeping near by), and (according to reviews and a woman I know who has used both) the spectra yields more milk.

The drawbacks are that the spectra needs to be plugged in (the S1 does not but my insurance doesn't cover that one), and spectra accessories are (according to reviews) not as good (like the bottles) or extensive (fewer flange sizes, especially smaller ones).  If I find the accessories to be a problem, Maymom makes parts that allow you to adapt medela bottles and flanges to the spectra system. You can order the Maymom stuff on amazon. It's not very expensive (like $5-15). I hope to use avent bottles if baby will take them though and those are directly compatible with the spectra.

If you plan to pump on the go, the Medela might be the better option (or seeing if you can pay the difference for the S1).

I got the spectra S2 after a lot of research. But the madela and spectra are defiantly the top two contenders. If there's a certain bottle you're set on using make sure the pump you choose is compatible with that pump. 😬

I got a Hygeia with my first and loved it! I have never used any other pump, but had a great experience using the Hygeia enjoye. Liked that it had let down function and I could control the strength and speed of pumping. Plus I could pump from one or both breasts. No complaints about the Hygeia! 
I am eligible for a new pump w this pregnancy and after doing a lot of research I am getting the Spectra this time. The Spectra has a ton of great reviews and I am curious to try it (haven't received it yet). The only reason I am not going w a new Hygeia is bc my old one still works and I wanted to try a different brand to see if i might like it better. The Spectra wasn't available to me through insurance last time. I figure if I don't like it I can always go back to my Hygeia!

I'm using Hygeia...I like it.  They send me new tubing and supplies every couple of weeks too. It is cordless, which is nice.
