how to get approved to own a house ? please give me advice

Ok so i make 4,800 a month I want to get a house under my name only I want to own a house could I get approved for a home if I make 4,800 a month ? I'm in Texas also this is what I'm looking for ... also the man already told me that credit didn't matter and they are really looking for proof of good income

The first thing you do is go for preapproval. So research a bank or a lender (like quicken loans for example) and see what rates they're offering. Whoever has the best rate apply for preapproval with them. They will crunch all the numbers and check your credit and determine how much they can preapprove a loan for and what your monthly mortgage payment would be without taxes and insurance and what your closing cost estimate would be. Then once you know what you can afford you can start shopping for houses! Good luck!

The previous comments are all great info!!! I'd like to add to stick with lenders you've heard of... ask friends family coworkers cuz the last thing you want is to TRUST an unknown with all of your financial information and to trust that the rate they claim is what you're going to get. 
DO NOT look at ARMs Ajustable Rate Mortgages those will bounce all over the place and you won't be able to predict or plan for next months payment. 
Lastly keep
In mind FHA vs Conventional
FHA is a government backed loan and offers a lower down payment and has restrictions on location of the home.
Conventional  requires a higher down payment but has no restrictions of location of the home.
OH and ask about IMPOUND ACCOUNTS.
This can be good an bad at the same time 
The good it's ALL wrapped up into one payment and the mortgager handles the payments to property taxes insurance and such.
You can opt formNON IMPOUNDING where everything is separate and gets billed
Directly to you and your budgeting skills. 
I preferred a NON IMPOUNDED case where I could. Anticipate the bill and plan accordingly plus there was no question whether it got paid and if they were doing as they promised and not fucking something up.

There are lots of factors like credit score, how long you've had established credit, length of employment, etc. You should go see if a bank will pre approve you.
