wage garnish????

I went to check my bank account because we get paid today at my company. I look and my check is $200 short than what it's suppose to be.
I check the actual payslip and under after tax wages a creditor garnish has been applied, and my company took out an additional $5 to collect the garnish.
I have checked my credit reports and there are no civil records against me- nor have I been sent summons in the mail.
Of course HR doesn't open until 8.
Has this happened to anyone else before?
What did you do ?

My stepdad had this happen over a medical bill. Idk if it was on his credit report, though. They did it for 3 pay cycles.

Have you taken out any payday loans they usually don't show on your credit but they can garnish your wages that's what happened to me... outside of that only student loans/regular loans depending on the terms and conditions and past due taxes can garnish that I know of
