didnt go as planned.. 😱

Maggie • Mama Bear to a baby boy ❤️
My due date was dec 21. I wanted a natural birth. No epidural, no unnecessary interventions, etc. i was offered an induction at 39 weeks because my doc was going on vacation and i said no. My pregnancy had been textbook so far. One day past my due date i went in for a stress test to make sure things were still okay. I had been having contractions for a couple days, and i knew i was in early labor, so when they sent me over to labor and delivery i thought "this is it"! Well.. not really. I was indeed in labor, but my blood pressure was sky high. They let me labor about 3 hours, during which they gave me dolodid to try and bring my pressure down. (Spelling)? Heads up, stay away from that stuff. They gave me half a dose and i was so high and out of it, i hated it. I was messed up for days because of it! After a couple hours my pressure was so high i was high risk for seizures. I was taken in for an emergency c section and at 6:57 pm my baby was born! He weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces :) after that, i was in the hospital for over 2 weeks. One or two days postpartum, i was passing big blood clots. My nurse knew, but didnt tell anybody. I mentioned it to her and she said it was normal. I went to the shower room and almost passed out. Two doctors had to put their hands in me and scrape the walls of my uterus to get the clots out, then i had to have two and a half units of blood. All while my nurse was in the corner on her phone. And when my doctor came back, she said "well i offered to induce you before i left but you said no so look what we got". Im still on alot of blood pressure medicine but trying to wean off now. So much for my birth plan lol! Try to go with the flow, and advocate for yourself! Know the signs of something being wrong. My little guy is almost 2 months old and he is the love of my life. ❤️
