Red raspberry leaf tea safe?

I've heard red raspberry leaf tea is supposed to help induce labor. Are there any risks with drinking that like there is risks associated with castor oil? I'm thinking about trying it but want to make sure it's safe first.

My midwife recommended starting to drink it at 36 weeks. To steep a pit full in the morning then drink it throughought the day. I plan to start tomorrow, I have friends who swear by the tea for fast labour so we shall see!

Or doesn't INDUCE labor, it tones your uterus and best to drink a cup everyday starting around 24 weeks until birth and even a cup or more while in labor and after birth.
