Covers absolutely necessary for cloth diapers??

FTM. A family member gifted us a trial from a cloth diaper service, so I'm planning to give it a try (currently 38w2d). What I'm reading makes it sound like diaper covers are a must to prevent leaks, but then I see so many diaper covers that are just cotton & not waterproof, so I'm confused. Thanks to any experienced cloth diaper moms who can shed some light! (Would love any other thoughts/tips you gave as well!!)

Look up thirsties or bummis diaper wraps or covers. There are a ton of brands but those are good economical covers. I like the thirsties duo snap wrap the best.

im going to use all in ones or pockets so those dont need a cover, all in ones honestly are the easiest i think. you would need covers for if you were doing fitteds or prefolds, ect.

I've seen this posted in other topics so hopefully it helps! A cover is only necessary for certain types of diapers so just check what kinds you're service offers.

Yeah, you need waterproof covers. When my baby pees there isnt a dry stitch on her diapers, lol. Her clothes would get wet constantly without a cover.

Ive used them on my niece so know how they work yes you do need a waterproff one or a strong thick towel but waterproff ones are the best ones to stop leaks
