Birth control pills

Hi , I'm new to taking birth control pills, so I am not to sure when I start taking my first pill. I recently had my period feb 4-9,2017. Just received the birth control pills today (feb 17,2017) . I was at the doctor they told me when to take them but I was just to nervous I spaced out:/ had my very first pap smear as well so that's why I was nevrous, I didn't have questions for the doctor I was just nodding. but a lil help will be nice from anyone .
