how much did you pay to find out gender before?

I live in Los Angeles and I'm almost tempted to start looking into places that would tell me the gender before 20 weeks. I'm currently 14ws 5ds and I want to start preparing myself and buying things since financially we weren't prepared for this, and the sooner I find out the sooner I can slowly start buying things we need. 💕 if any one has recommendations of the price, locations, or test they've taken please feel free to comment. Finding out at my current clinic through blood test won't be an option apparently they only do that for medical reasons.

I would advice that if your not financially ready for the baby i wouldnt waste money on finding out a few weeks early when you can find out anyway at 20 weeks. You can still start getting prepared without knowing the gender... buy the cot or moses basket, sheets, vests, nappies, maternity stuff for yourself. You can easily wait till 20 weeks before you have to get pink or blue items. I think its more excitment that you just really want to know what your having and are trying to justify spending the money on the scan when you cant really afford it but just really want it. 20 weeks will come round so quick. But if you really dont want to wait then you dont have to explain it to anyone but dont make up reasons  to justify it to yourself... and if next month you dont have enough money for a pushchair or cot then you can't blame anyone other then you being impatient.

We got a Groupon for $25 at a place in Tustin. We were 12 weeks and the lady that does it had great reviews on early gender scan. She told us girl and we went back at 17 weeks to confirm before we told family. I'm 34 weeks now and all the scans since have been girl.

Even though we trusted her we knew it could be wrong so early so we didn't tell people until after the anatomy scan and we didn't buy anything until then too. I did start our Amazon registry right after but I kept it set on private until we confirmed.

The whole you should be buying "diapers" or "wipes" thing isn't what I was asking. I HAVE started to buy that stuff and want to continue buying things for my baby in a slow manner. If I feel like an extra month is going to help me collect a few more things that I need than that is my decision. I wasn't going pay big bucks to find out that is why I was curious what everyone paid. And I'm glad the other two people mentioned that place it's only $20 bucks so for me to pay $20 to find out the gender so I can start buying more things than I think I can do that.. and I can start buying things for my baby shower. I'm moving the month before my due date so Im just preparing myself as much as I can so it doesn't build up later. And me saying wasn't financially prepared doesn't mean I'm poor. It just means I wasn't prepared for it and I want to buy everything slowly so later I don't end up having to spend 1,000 on everything. Glad for your opinions tho.

I agree with previous comments. Don't spend the money to get an early ultrasound. Spend that money on diapers, wipes, and gender neutral things.
