The other day i asked my mum if i could start birth cotrol to help steady my period (my period is kinda all over the place with no real cycle pattern, so i asked my older sister what to do and she said birth control helps a lot) and my mum agreed to get me a gyno appointment for the pill. But another reason i wanted birth control is because i just started becoming sexually active with my current boyfriend and didnt wanna risk anything. The steady period was more of a bonus. Anyway the point is does anyone know how soon after starting the pill that you become protected? Like a few hours, a day, a week? (I know you gotta take the pill daily for constant protection im asking the very first time you take a pill, how long until you can have sex)
