Inducing labor at 38-39 weeks safe?

Just wondering if it was ok to do at home inducing labor techniques yet even though I am between 38 and 39 weeks?

They only really work when baby is ready, so I'd say it's fine.

It really depends on what types of methods you're talking about. Eating some pineapple or bouncing on a labor ball is probably pretty harmless and will help make sure she's in the right position (head down) but taking herbal supplements could be dangerous. The best time for the baby to come is when they're ready and normally that is around 40wks. Also keep in mind that inducing too early could cause a longer labor because when you are considered 'ripe' and really ready things will typically move smoother naturally. I'm going to try to make it through as much Prodromal labor as I can before going to the hospital to have the baby because it's that 'false practice labor' that essentially preps your body for the real thing. And please don't drink castor oil.

Yes the last few weeks of pregnancy are miserable, but you can seriously hurt your child by self inducing.
