Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of the day I was admitted to a psychiatric ward for attempting suicide. I'm doing worlds better now. I still have my days, but I'm glad to be here. Below is a picture of the birdhouse I painted while in the psych ward 😂😂😂

I worked with a young guy that tried to commit suicide by gassing himself in his car. He was revived and saved but because of the carbon monoxide he was left with brain injuries for the rest of his life. It was a really sad situation. I also have 2 really good guy friends and both their mothers hung themselves when they were young teenagers. They've never gotten over their feelings of guilt and both have drug/alcohol addictions. Depression is a horrible disease, and hurts so many people. I think we need to keep talking about it, keep reaching out, and keep trying to break the stigma about it being something to be hidden

My husband (then bf) tried to commit suicide years ago. It was actually the best thing that could have happened to him because he ended up getting the help he needed.

My sociopathic, abusive ex killed himself a year ago. He was a fucking horrible person, admitted to me he'd molested not only his younger but older sister when they were younger. Never could hold down a job because he felt like he was too good for any honest work. The world always owed him something, took responsibility for nothing. Suicide is horrible but honestly, the world is better off without that scumbag.

I took sleeping pills when I was 16 and my uncle shot himself five years ago.

I've thought about it but never did. The only thing I had to live for (when I was 14) died. My best friend in the whole wide world. She never seemed sad, and was always strong in hard situations. She took pills and died. After that, I went into a deep depression and my parents took me to a therapist. After I met my now husband, my life quickly turned around.
