stopping birth control

so i've taken birth control for almost four years because i've had the worst periods, they would last over a week and i would have heavy bleeding every day. Now i'm 16 and i wanna be healthier and i don't like the thought of putting chemicals in my body and i like being more natural. If i stop birth control.. do u think i'll have the same affects? more affects? or will i be fine
